Award Scheme

1994-2005 RIP

The end came for the five Central Coast Health Promoting School awards and signage in 2005.

For 10 years Central Coast Schools were offered the opportunity to apply for Health Promoting School Awards. Over this time many schools were recognised for their efforts in promoting health to their staff, students and parents.

Due to decreasing demand for the awards and signage along with other initiatives that have been introduced, the decision to discontinue the awards was made.

The criteria for each of the awards provides a useful guide for schools wanting to address important population health issues. Please click on any of the links below to view the criteria as they were when the program was discontinued in 2005.

Thank you and congratulations to the schools that supported the awards over the years. The Health Promotion Unit continues to work with schools through the PDHPE Network, Canteen Network and other health initiatives. Please go to the home page to find current school health promotion projects.
